Reinventing Learning Strategies
An interesting concept of the landscape of the new learning environment consists of maintaining the effective resources that enable an organization to succeed. This article highlights some of the frustrations with training and developing staff in a corporate environment. Organizations of the past provided limited support in training efforts, however the complexity of new organizations facilitated a need for the implementation of Instructional Design, as part of the strategic planning of growing companies. A growing sense of reciprocity has emerged where organizations and employees engage in a symbiotic relationship in the exchange of expectations and mission. The concepts of Instructional Design has transcended past the academic environment with the dynamic ability to mold values of an organization. Important concepts of implementing a learning environment within an organization involves management's understanding of issues relating to the importance of operational learning, the ability to secure money for training sessions and ensuring that the curriculum will serve as a value added concept to the organization. Without the support of management in the learning environment, the effort may pose negative consequences for the organization. It is important to recognize that success in an training session is contingent upon some factors that are beyond the trainer's control, however careful consideration of potential consequences will maintain greater effectiveness.
